Outside of spending time in the shop, there’s nothing better than a game of chess with a friend or a couple rounds of checkers with the grandkids. This chessboard gives you the best of both worlds — a few interesting woodworking challenges, and a great excuse to play a few matches when you’re finished with the project. The unique feature of this chessboard is its go-anywhere design. The playing surface is actually a pair of lids that flip up to reveal a storage area for the game pieces.
