Adding veneer to a project is a great way to create an eye-catching look without breaking the bank. And one of the most challenging aspects of using veneer is applying consistent pressure across the surface as you glue it in place. This veneer press more than adequately serves the purpose. There are two big advantages to its design: It’s inexpensive to build, and it’s more convenient than manhandling a lot of clamps and cauls to get the job done before the glue sets. The double-layer MDF platens are dead flat and smooth. This means the resulting panel will be smooth with a consistent glue line. All in all, the veneer press is easy to build and yields great results.
