Oak Sofa Table
Everything you’d expect of a Mission-style sofa table is featured in this project, including quartersawn oak, square spindles, and authentic mortise and tenon joinery.
This beautiful sofa table is constructed of solid quartersawn oak, typical of Mission (or Craftsman-style) furniture. Simple Z-shaped table top fasteners attach the top and shelf to the stretchers and allow the solid panels to expand and contract with seasonal changes in humidity. A light cherry stain topped with two coats of oil and urethane protect the table. Finally, a coat of paste wax is buffed to a satin sheen and this table is ready for a honored place in your home.
