Oval Jewelry Box
This jewelry box, is an unusual project. With its oval shape and wing-like lids, it seems complex, but as you’ll see, there isn’t anything unusual about building it.
As woodworkers, we like to give gifts, and small projects fit the bill perfectly. But just because a project is small, doesn’t mean it doesn’t pack in some great woodworking. This jewelry box offers some great techniques. One of my favorite is the process that is used to create the recesses. It combines a router with a few simple templates to give you a great looking product. Two matching swivel lids enclose the compartments, and a center divider serves as a lid stop. And the best part... in just one weekend you could turn out several of thse projects.
